I'm Zhi Wen Soi

I obtained my Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Bern, where I was advised by Prof. Lydia Y. Chen, and a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from New Era University College. My current research focuses on advancing watermarking techniques for generative models and designing federated machine learning systems, with an emphasis on security, privacy, and distributed intelligence.

From Jun 2024 at University of Neuchâtel & TU Delft, Neuchâtel, Switzerland

Advised by Prof. Lydia Y. Chen in the Distributed Machine Learning Systems lab. Developed the first watermarking algorithm for multivariate time series diffusion models. Designed a federated learning architecture for time series generation.

Research Assistant

From Jun 2022 to Jan 2023 at University of Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Malaysia

Collected and processed 360° videos synchronized with sensor data from a dynamic construction site. Developed high-precision object detection models on the acquired datasets using YOLOv5.

Embedded Software Engineer & Mobile Developer

From Mar 2021 to Oct 2022 at TigaKY Sdn Bhd, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

Developed and published an IoT controller mobile application on Google Play. Engineered firmware for IoT devices to seamlessly control multiple modules, sensors, and hardware components. Designed and deployed an MQTT publish-subscribe architecture, optimizing for ultra-fast response times and high reliability.
